Oak Park’s village board passed a variety of resolutions on consent agenda at the meeting on Wednesday evening, one being an amendment to the professional services agreement with Securitas Security Services USA for overnight security at Avenue Garage. Avenue Garage, 720 N Blvd., was hit with a mass car break-in spree on Sept. 11, when about 29 cars had their windows smashed around 3 a.m. The structure had security cameras, security personnel on-site from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and receives patrol coverage overnight. As of Nov. 1, the parking structure now has overnight security, according to the Nov. 4 village board agenda. With the board’s approval, there was a $20,722.56 amendment to the existing agreement with the security company to add those overnight services. The consent agenda items are not individually discussed and are passed together with a vote from the board.
